Job Purpose

The Sr. Software Engineer contributes to design, development and deployment of Caterpillar’s state-of-the-art digital applications. This position will build a world class front end of a wide range of digital applications.

Responsibilities

–Design and Develop new user-facing features–Build reusable code and libraries for future use–Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs–Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability–Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end–Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

Skills And Qualifications

–5 to 7 years of work experience in front end development–Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks like Angular 2+/React/Polymer–Strong understanding of JavaScript design patterns and Object Oriented JavaScript–Strong understanding and hands on experience of unit testing frameworks like Jasmine–Strong understanding Web components–Basic understanding of build systems like Webpack/Bazel–Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3–Proficient understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS–Basic understanding of Nodejs, Express and oAuth
