Senior Software Engineer - Backend

About the Role: We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Backend Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of scalable systems and backend products at Apna. You will work on complex distributed systems and be responsible for building high-performance, reliable, and maintainable services that power our platform. Key Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain large-scale backend services and infrastructure. Lead the development of backend architecture for high-throughput, low-latency systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, and Frontend Engineers. Own database design and implementation (SQL/NoSQL). Drive performance tuning, optimization, monitoring, and alerting for backend systems. Contribute to technical architecture and mentor junior engineers. Ensure best practices in code quality, security, and maintainability. Required Skills & Experience:4 to 7 years of experience building scalable, distributed backend systems. Strong coding skills in any programming language (willing to learn GoLang); Python experience is a plus. Solid experience with Microservices architecture and patterns. Deep understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB). Familiarity with tools like Elasticsearch, Redis, Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes. Experience with cloud platforms like GCP or AWS. Good understanding of system design, latency optimization, and API performance. Preferred (Good to Have):Prior experience in fast-growing product/startup environments. Familiarity with observability tools for logging, tracing, and monitoring. Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices. Why Join Apna?
