Senior Software Architect

As a highly experienced Senior Software Architect and Designer, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of complex software systems across multiple platforms. Your role will involve combining deep technical expertise with strategic thinking and strong design principles to shape the architecture of scalable, secure, and high-performance applications that align with business goals. Your key responsibilities will include defining and documenting high-level software architecture and system components, designing scalable and maintainable system architectures using microservices, APIs, serverless, and monolithic approaches as appropriate, translating business requirements and user needs into detailed technical specifications and software designs, evaluating architectural options and performing trade-off analysis to optimize for performance, cost, and maintainability, and defining integration patterns for internal and third-party services. You will also be expected to lead architecture reviews, technical planning, and code quality discussions, set design and development standards, ensure adherence through code reviews and mentoring, collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and efficient implementation, research and assess emerging technologies and frameworks to guide future software strategies, contribute to long-term technology roadmaps aligned with business goals, drive digital transformation and modernization of legacy systems when needed, participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release management, support and troubleshoot high-impact issues in production systems, and ensure security, compliance, and performance best practices are integrated into all designs. Qualifications for this role include a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, 5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years in an architecture or lead design role, and proven experience designing large-scale distributed systems and cloud-native applications. In terms of technical skills, you should be proficient in one or more of the following languages: Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, Rust, or similar, have experience with architecture concepts such as microservices, REST/GraphQL APIs, serverless, event-driven systems, and message queues, be familiar with cloud platforms such as AWS and Cloud Platform, possess knowledge in DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation), have experience with databases including relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB), and be skilled in using tools such as UML, architecture modeling tools, version control (Git), and Agile development tools (Jira, Confluence). Soft skills that are essential for this role include strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills (both technical and non-technical), the ability to mentor and lead junior architects and engineers, a strong sense of ownership and accountability, and a strategic mindset with attention to detail. Nice to have qualifications for this role include experience in IoT, edge computing, or embedded systems architecture, a background in designing systems for regulated industries (e.g., medical, automotive, finance), and experience with UX/UI design collaboration and design systems.,
