Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Social Media Strategist with a proven track record in leading high-stakes digital campaigns in the political, governance, or corporate space. You will be responsible for designing and executing digital strategy, building influencer amplification networks, and overseeing daily content across platforms.

This is a leadership-track role for someone who can bring political instinct, narrative clarity, and campaign sharpness to digital storytelling.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and lead digital strategies for political figures, ministries, multilateral institutions, and private sector clients
• Shape long-term campaign architecture and daily execution aligned with broader communications objectives
• Drive message consistency across digital, media, and ground activations

Influencer-Led Amplification

• Build a robust network of aligned digital influencers, issue voices, and community-led creators
• Conceptualize and manage paid/organic influencer campaigns that drive narrative spread and perception shaping
• Track influencer effectiveness and maintain relationships with key ecosystem players in politics, policy, and public affairs

Content Oversight & Platform Strategy

• Oversee content calendars and output across X/Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and WhatsApp
• Review and shape platform-appropriate copy, design briefs, and video scripts to ensure narrative impact and tone alignment
• Work with design/video teams to deliver compelling visual storytelling that cuts through clutter

Monitoring, Reporting & Crisis Response

• Lead proactive and reactive messaging during political events, news cycles, or reputational threats
• Manage digital listening and social media monitoring teams to generate actionable insights
• Create regular performance dashboards with strategic recommendations for improvement

Team & Stakeholder Management

• Guide and mentor junior social media team members
• Liaise with senior leadership, client representatives, policy teams, and campaign managers to align digital strategy with evolving priorities
• Lead review meetings and represent Aakhya's digital practice in key engagements

Who You Are

• 58+ years of relevant experience in political communications, strategic digital campaigns, or issue-based advocacy
• Demonstrated success in managing high-profile digital campaigns political or corporate
• Deep understanding of India's political landscape, media narratives, digital culture, and influencer ecosystem
• Strong instincts for message control, audience segmentation, and digital reputation management
• Bilingual fluency (English and Hindi); regional language fluency a plus
• Comfortable with pressure, tight timelines, and the pace of political/strategic communication environments

Tools & Skills You Bring

• Expertise in platform analytics and social listening tools (CrowdTangle, Sprout, Meltwater, Talkwalker, etc.)
• Familiarity with influencer campaign tools, micro-influencer databases, or CRM systems
• Strategic use of design/video inputs to enhance storytelling (you don't need to be a designer, but should know what works)
• Crisis communication and narrative management skills across digital platforms
