Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care:

  • Diagnosing and treating patients with diverse medical conditions, both in inpatient and outpatient settings. This includes conducting physical examinations, taking medical histories, and developing and implementing treatment plans.

  • Clinical Supervision:

  • Overseeing and mentoring junior residents, interns, and medical students, providing guidance on patient care and clinical procedures.

  • Emergency Response:

  • Managing medical emergencies and providing critical care support, including stabilization and resuscitation procedures.

  • Clinical Procedures:

  • Performing or assisting with medical procedures such as lumbar punctures, thoracentesis, and paracentesis, as well as wound care and other interventions.

  • Documentation and Communication:

  • Maintaining accurate patient records, including progress notes, discharge summaries, and referral letters, and communicating effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.

  • Clinical Rounds and Conferences:

  • Participating in daily rounds, case discussions, and clinical conferences to discuss patient care, treatment plans, and research findings.

  • Teaching and Research:

  • Participating in teaching activities for medical students and junior residents, and contributing to research projects in the field of general medicine.

  • Quality Improvement:

  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives within the department, contributing to the development of clinical guidelines and protocols.

  • Administrative Tasks:

  • Completing administrative tasks as assigned by the department head, such as data collection for quality assurance studies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or equivalent.
  • Completion of a residency program in Internal Medicine or General Medicine.
  • Strong clinical skills in diagnosis, treatment, and management of medical conditions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
  • Proficiency in medical procedures and documentation.
  • Experience in teaching and mentoring junior staff
