Senior Research Assistant

(Ref.: 533574) (to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in infectious disease epidemiology, mathematics, statistics, computational biology, physics or related disciplines, with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience; or a Master’s degree with at least 1 year of post-qualification experience. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including fluent Cantonese), good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, and a strong sense of responsibility. They should be detail-oriented and able to work collaboratively in a team. Experience in infectious disease epidemiology and statistical analysis would be an advantage. Quantitative skills and proficiency in statistical or computer modelling software (e.g. R, Python, Stata, Matlab, C++, SPSS) are highly preferred.The appointee will assist in studies related to influenza and/or COVID-19, analyse statistical data. He/she will be responsible for coordinating population-based surveys, and analyzing data from studies related to healthcare-seeking behaviors and disease burden during influenza and COVID-19 epidemics. He/She will also be responsible for conducting systematic literature searches and reviewing epidemiological data for the projects; and perform other administrative duties as assigned.
