Job Description We're looking for a Senior React Lead to help stabilize and modernize a large legacy front-end codebase built with jQuery 1.10, Prototype.js, and other deprecated libraries. The ideal candidate is skilled in reverse-engineering old JavaScript, improving browser compatibility, and planning safe migration paths toward ReactJS and modern tooling. Key Responsibilities Analyse and refactor legacy JavaScript (ES3–ES5) codebases Stabilize UI components using shims, wrappers, and polyfills Write unit test cases and browser-compatible code Propose modernization strategies and React migration plans Collaborate with .NET engineers and QA teams Must-Have Skills 12+ years of experience as a front-end developer, with expertise in ReactJs and JavaScript. Strong knowledge of JavaScript, especially older versions (ES3–ES5) and how browsers worked from 2005 to 2015. Experience working with and updating jQuery-heavy websites or applications. Excellent at debugging and understanding messy or unstructured JavaScript code. Familiar with polyfills, shims, and techniques to make old JavaScript work in newer browsers. Hands-on experience with large front-end code clean-ups or improving UI stability in old systems. Good understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks (like React) and how to migrate old code into newer structures.
