Senior Quality Engineer

Responsibilities:

Quality Management Systems & Control:

• Prepare & follow Standard QAP for cases where Customer Inspection is not involved.
• Understand production requirements and design quality management systems to improve quality. Define quality parameters, controls & measures to asses.
• Define quality policy and prepare process manual for implementation of quality systems in the Organization. Set quality goals. Create quality centric culture in the organization.
• Welder Qualification tests to be carried out as per the standards.
• Keep & update repository of relevant Quality Standards, Quality manuals, Specifications etc.
• Set up proper quality systems at Suppliers place wherever required

Inward Quality:

• Set up systems and processes for inspection of inward material. Ensure quantity and dimensions are matching with required parameters. In case of quality issues, coordinate with Purchase department and get the necessary replacements.
• Prepare and update inward inspection reports. Maintain checklist and inspection reports as per requirement.

In Process Quality:

• Monitor the ongoing production process of fabrication and tool room. Do the in-process quality inspection. Check the work output, conduct testing/ trials if required and ensure the quality parameters are achieved as per standards. Provide guidance to improve effectiveness.
• In-case of quality issues coordinate with Production departments to avoid quality defects. Conduct analysis to understand the areas of improvements. Make necessary improvements in the work processes to avoid quality problems.

Material testing:

• Third party testing like PMI, Chemical testing etc.

Bought Out Inspection at Suppliers place:

• Carry out PR ensure inspection as per QA Plan of Bought Outs at Suppliers place (with or without Customer) (by self or appointed engineering team member)

Customer Management:

• Attend customer complaints. Do analysis of quality complaint. Communicate customer complaints to concerned department. Take measures to resolve complaint on priority and improve on customer satisfaction.
• Provide support for customer audits and ensure audits are cleared on quality parameters. Understand non-conformities at our end and provide guidance for improvement.

Audits & Compliance:

• Conduct audits as per plan. Prepare audit report and conduct MRM. Take measures to close non conformities and improve quality.
• Do the calibrations of all measuring tools/equipments as per schedule and maintain records.

MIS & Reporting:

• Compile and update daily/monthly work-related reports and submit to Management as per requirement.

Requirements:

• Qualification:

  B.E (Mechanical/Production)

• Experience:

  5-8 Years of work experience preferably with NDT Level II

• Knowledge:

  Quality Management Systems, Manufacturing Process, Knowledge about International & Indian standards, ISO Procedures, QA manual control and supervision, Effective monitoring.

• Technical Skills:

  Machining processes, Welding Standards, NDT.

• Behavioral Skills:

  Leadership Skills, Planning & Organizing, Business Communication, Decision Making, Time Management, Analytical Skills & Result Orientation.
