Senior Python/PostgreSQL Engineer (DevOps Experience a Plus)

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Python/PostgreSQL Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python development and PostgreSQL database management, with the ability to design and optimize scalable backend systems. Experience with DevOps tools and practices—such as Azure, CI/CD pipelines, Linux/Windows environments, and version control—is considered a valuable advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and maintain backend services using Python.
• Design and manage PostgreSQL databases, ensuring performance, security, and scalability.
• Write efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, and data workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to support data-driven features and application enhancements.
• Implement best practices for code quality, data integrity, and system reliability.
• Utilize Git, Bitbucket, and other DevOps tools to support development workflows (as applicable).
• Troubleshoot and resolve application and database issues promptly.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to backend/data solution strategies.

Skills and Qualifications

• Expert proficiency in Python with experience in production-level development.
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on expertise with PostgreSQL administration and optimization.
• Solid understanding of query tuning, indexing strategies, schema design, and database performance.
• Experience working with Linux or Windows environments.
• Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, and modern development workflows.
• Exposure to Azure cloud services and CI/CD practices is a plus.
• Understanding of DevOps concepts, automation, and monitoring tools (advantageous).
• Strong problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities.

EducationB.Tech (Compulsory): in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience

• Python: Minimum 3 years (Required)
• PostgreSQL: Minimum 3 years (Required)

Good to Have

• Certifications in Python, PostgreSQL, Azure, or Linux.
• Experience with Agile or DevOps methodologies.
• Exposure to containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) or IaC tools.
