Job Title: Senior Piping Designer
Location: Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai

Job Type: Full Time

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Piping Designer with strong expertise in SP3D to support the design and layout of piping systems for onshore and offshore oil & gas projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record working in leading EPC firms such as Worley, KBR, Technip, or similar, and will play a key role in project execution from concept to detailed design.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop 3D piping models using SP3D in compliance with project specifications.
Generate and review piping layouts, isometrics, and general arrangement drawings.
Ensure clash-free designs by coordinating with other disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical).
Interpret P&IDs, piping specifications, and material classes.
Participate in model reviews and ensure design meets safety, accessibility, and maintenance requirements.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers and drafters.
Support site and construction teams with design clarifications when needed.

Requirements:

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
8+ years of experience in piping design, with at least 3+ years using SP3D.
Experience working on both onshore and offshore oil & gas projects.
Strong understanding of piping components, supports, and layout best practices.
Familiarity with international design codes and EPC work processes.
Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience:

Prior work experience with EPC firms like Worley, KBR, Technip, McDermott, Wood, or Petrofac.
Exposure to brownfield (revamp) projects and offshore platforms.
Knowledge of other design tools like MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Navisworks is a plus.
