Senior Performance Tester

The Performance Test Lead will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of performance testing to ensure that applications function optimally under various load conditions. You will collaborate closely with development, QA, and operations teams to identify performance issues and provide recommendations for enhancement. Your key responsibilities will include developing and implementing performance test strategies, plans, and scripts based on project requirements. You will define testing objectives, scope, and criteria, as well as identify necessary test environments, tools, and resources. Additionally, you will execute various tests such as load, stress, volume, and scalability tests, monitoring application performance and analyzing results to pinpoint bottlenecks and issues. Furthermore, you will analyze performance test outcomes to create comprehensive reports on system behavior under load, offering suggestions for optimization and tuning. Effective communication of findings to stakeholders, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, will also be a crucial part of your role. Collaboration and coordination with developers, system architects, and infrastructure teams will ensure efficient performance testing practices. You will work with project managers to align testing activities with project timelines and manage performance testing tools, ensuring their proper configuration and maintenance. Continuous improvement is key, as you will establish and uphold best practices for performance testing, evaluate and enhance testing processes, and mentor junior team members on testing techniques. Your qualifications should include at least 10 years of software testing experience, with a minimum of 4 years in a leadership role, along with proficiency in performance testing tools, scripting languages, and knowledge of network protocols, databases, and monitoring tools. Preferred qualifications include experience in cloud-based environments, familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, as well as certification in performance testing or quality assurance.
