Role Overview

Senior Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Network Architecture & Design:

  Design and deploy enterprise-grade network solutions that span both

  public cloud (AWS, Azure)

  and

  on-prem environments

  .

• Device Configuration & Management:

  Configure, manage, and optimize

  routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers

  , and other network components.

• Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

  Monitor and analyze network performance to identify and resolve issues related to

  latency, packet loss, throughput, and connectivity

  .

• Automation & Orchestration:

  Implement

  network automation

  using

  Ansible, Python, or Terraform

  , ensuring consistency, scalability, and reduced manual errors.

• Security & Compliance:

  Collaborate with

  InfoSec and DevOps teams

  to enforce

  zero-trust architectures

  , secure configurations, and compliance with standards like

  PCI DSS and SOC 2

  .

• Incident Response & RCA:

  Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), and remediation for critical

  network outages or performance degradations

  .

• Documentation & Standardization:

  Maintain comprehensive documentation of

  network architecture, configurations, standard operating procedures (SOPs)

  , and topology diagrams.

• Mentorship & Collaboration:

  Guide junior engineers, share best practices, and participate in

  cross-functional initiatives

  to enhance overall infrastructure reliability and performance.

Qualifications & Skills

Must Have:

• 6–7 years of hands-on experience in

  network engineering or infrastructure operations

  .
• Strong understanding of

  TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and subnetting

  .
• Experience with

  Cisco, Palo Alto, and Fortinet

  network devices.
• Expertise in

  cloud networking

  (AWS & Azure):
• AWS: VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN
  
• Azure: VNets, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateways
  
• Working knowledge of

  SD-WAN

  ,

  network segmentation

  , and

  zero-trust security frameworks

  .
• Proficiency in

  Python, Bash, or PowerShell

  scripting for automation.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as

  SolarWinds, Datadog, Prometheus

  , and log aggregation using

  ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)

  .
• Strong understanding of

  security best practices

  and

  compliance frameworks

  (e.g., PCI DSS, SOC 2).

Good to Have:

• Familiarity with

  Kubernetes networking (CNI, ingress/egress)

• Exposure to

  Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

  concepts using

  Terraform or CloudFormation

• Experience working in

  agile environments

  DevOps-based network automation pipelines

• Relevant certifications such as
