Senior Modeler - SP3D

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior SP3D Modeler to lead the development and coordination of detailed 3D models for Piping, HVAC, structural, electrical, and instrument disciplines for Industrial Building projects, utilizing expert knowledge of SP3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and BIM 360 for accurate model creation and clash checking.

Key Responsibilities

• 3D Modeling Excellence: Develop, maintain, and update accurate 3D models for Piping, HVAC, Structural, Electrical, and Instrumentation disciplines using SP3D (SmartPlant 3D).
• Piping and HVAC Focus: Specific responsibility for complex piping layouts, including routing, supports, and specialty items, as well as detailed modeling of HVAC ductwork, equipment, and accessories.
• Drafting & Extraction: Generate high-quality 2D drawings (Plans, Sections, Isometrics, etc.) directly from the 3D model and ensure they comply with project and industry standards.
• Model Review & Clash Checking: Conduct regular model reviews and perform inter-discipline clash checks using Navisworks and BIM 360, resolving conflicts in coordination with lead engineers.
• Model Management: Ensure the consistency, integrity, and accuracy of the SP3D model database and associated reference data.
• BOM/MTO Generation: Extract accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) or Material Take-Offs (MTO) from the 3D model for procurement and construction purposes.
• Coordination: Collaborate closely with engineers from various disciplines (Piping, Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation) and communicate model progress and issues effectively.
• Adherence to Standards: Ensure all modeling work is performed in accordance with project specifications, design data, P&IDs, standards, and established modeling procedures.
• Support: Provide technical support and guidance on SP3D modeling best practices to junior modelers or team members.
• Education: Degree B.E. / B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical/Piping Engineering or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum 8 - 15 years of experience with SP3D

knowledge of AutoCAD, Navisworks & BIM 360 for model review and clash checking is a strong advantage
