Senior Manager - Testing

As a Senior Manager- Testing at a Leading Electrical Manufacturing Company in Halol, Gujarat, your role will involve leading and managing High Voltage Electrical Test Laboratory Operations up to 400 kV Class. Your expertise in electrical product testing, transformer bushings, and HV equipment, along with proven leadership in managing testing operations and teams, will be essential. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead all electrical product testing including Routine, Type, FAT & Special Tests up to 400 kV Class. - Ensure compliance with IS/IEC standards & customer specifications. - Oversee calibration, maintenance, and reliability of HV test lab equipment. - Plan and schedule tests to meet production & dispatch deadlines. - Drive investigations, TBR analysis, and prepare detailed reports. **Team & Lab Management:** - Mentor & lead engineers, technicians, and operators for high performance. - Ensure strict adherence to safety, test protocols & documentation. - Upgrade lab facilities as per industry standards & customer needs. - Recruit, train & build a high-performing team. - Prepare proposals for Capex approvals. **Customer & Compliance Interface:** - Coordinate customer witness testing & third-party inspections. - Ensure compliance with QMS (ISO, NABL) & regulatory standards. - Lead customer audits, inspections & handle quality-related queries. - Manage closure of customer complaints & provide technical support. **Root Cause Analysis & Technical Support:** - Lead analysis of test failures, design validation & feedback to R&D. - Collaborate with Production, Quality & Sales for continuous improvement. - Support testing during NPD & pilot runs. - Implement best practices in HV testing & lab management. **Reporting & Systems:** - Maintain traceable, audit-ready test records & logs. - Monitor KPIs such as test lead times, pass/fail rates, re-test frequencies. - Recommend improvements based on test data & customer feedback. **Skills & Competencies:** - Strong expertise in HV product testing (Tan Delta, PD measurement, etc.). - Deep knowledge of transformer bushings, insulators & switchgear testing. - Proficiency in safety protocols & lab management. - Leadership, team mentoring & cross-functional collaboration. - Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, TQM, TPM for process improvements.
