                                The opportunity  
The Senior Manager, Data Engineering, is responsible for leading a team of data engineers to develop, optimize, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure. This role oversees the automation of ETL processes, ensures data integrity and availability and collaborates with business and technology teams to align data strategies with business objectives. The position requires strong leadership, technical expertise and strategic thinking to drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.   Your key responsibilities  
   
Hire, evaluate, and develop a team of data engineers, providing training and mentorship to enhance skills and performance. Manage and optimize automated ETL processes to handle large-scale data transformation and ensure seamless data flow. Collaborate with senior leadership to define data engineering strategies, execute data initiatives and align efforts with business goals. Direct the planning, prioritization and execution of data engineering projects to support business intelligence and analytics. Oversee the design and development of scalable data pipelines, databases and storage solutions to support enterprise-wide data needs. Ensure data consistency, integrity, and integration from diverse sources, including APIs, databases and third-party platforms. Proactively monitor data processes, identify performance bottlenecks and implement improvements for efficiency and reliability. Partner with data scientists, analysts and business stakeholders to provide reliable data solutions and insights. Maintain documentation, enforce data security policies and implement industry best practices for data governance. Lead or participate in high-impact projects, exploring emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance data capabilities.

 To qualify for the role, you must have  
Minimum 10 years of business or technical experience, including people management and data engineering expertise. Bachelors degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science or IT, or Bachelors in Computer Applications (BCA), or Masters in Computer Applications (MCA). Extensive experience in data engineering, ETL processes and database management (SQL, NoSQL, cloud-based data platforms). Strong expertise in big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Snowflake) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Hands-on experience with data integration tools, APIs and real-time data streaming frameworks. Proficiency in Python, Scala, Java, or other programming languages for data engineering. Knowledge of data governance, security policies and regulatory compliance frameworks. Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive strategic data initiatives. Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking and project management skills. Ability to lead, mentor and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
