Senior Manager- Scheduling and Procurement

Purpose of the Role

The role will be responsible for ensuring future-readiness in line with the manufacturing strategy by driving capex planning as well as facility planning of respective shop for all upcoming projects as per stage of the program with suitable process and layout.

Job Responsibility

Manufacturing Strategy & CAPEX requirement finalisation:

• Develop manufacturing strategy w.r.t. product technical requirement & volume Development of aggregate Make Vs Buy Strategy Technology selection w.r.t. product technical requirement & volume CAPEX calculation w.r.t. final manufacturing strategy

Shop Capacity mapping & Facility as well as equipment planning :

• Process mapping & design considering vehicle manufacturability Facility planning w.r.t. product & volume requirement Developing of layouts for new processes and facility expansions Implementation of lean manufacturing concepts w.r.t TPM & TQM during facility planning

CAPEX plan:

• Development of commitment & incurrence plans for annual Capex for respective shop. Track & control commitment & incurrence plans for annual Capex for respective shops.

Driving project time line with respect to Gen 3:

• Development of facility plan w.r.t. project deliverables Adherence to project plan for the facility readiness w.r.t. shop readiness for new vehicle productionisation

Process & Facility Benchmarking:

• Inter & Intra plant facility & process bench marking w.r.t. technology & CAPEX. Participate in seminar & workshop for learning & introduction of new technology in manufacturing engineering Using benchmark data for deciding manufacturing strategy and product targets.

Facility Execution & Process Proving:

• Conduct Design Approval meetings with stakeholders to review DAPs submitted by suppliers, incorporating inputs from user agencies and the planning team to ensure alignment on facility planning.
• Oversee facility readiness and execution at key project milestones, ensuring adherence to timelines, safety standards, and legal compliance related to supplier/service personnel access.
• Manage the proving of facilities, equipment, and manufacturing processes to meet delivery, quality, and timeline targets, while coordinating necessary training for the operations team on new equipment and technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve station readiness scores and support product maturation through Beta, PO, BBO, PP, and SOP phases.
• Verify MBOM, estimate sheets, and other prerequisites to facilitate accurate cost roll-ups and project budgeting.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Education: Graduation in Engineering (MBA Operations / Finance preferred)
• B.E/B.Tech with 8~10 years of experience
• In depth knowledge of manufacturing areas, and knowledge of products, engineering, project management (internal Gen3) and facility as well as equipment needed
