Senior Manager Product Development Yarn

Job Title: Product Development Yarn

Department: Research & Development / Product Innovation

Reports To: Head – R&D

Job Purpose:

To research, design, and develop new yarn products in line with market trends, customer

requirements, and technological advancements — ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and

scalability for commercial production.

Key Responsibilities:

1. New Product Development

• Develop innovative yarns (cotton, blended, mlange, fancy, or technical yarns) based on

market demand or customer briefs.

• Conduct fiber selection, blend ratio analysis, and trials on pilot machines.

• Evaluate yarn properties and optimize process parameters for consistent performance.

• Collaborate with spinning, quality, and marketing teams to scale up successful trials to bulk

production.

2. Market & Trend Analysis

• Study global and domestic market trends in fiber, yarn, and fabric innovations.

• Benchmark competitor products and identify opportunities for differentiation.

• Support marketing and sales teams with technical insights for new product launches.

3. Technical Evaluation

• Test yarn parameters such as count strength product (CSP), evenness, hairiness, twist,

elongation, and tenacity.

• Analyze test results to ensure products meet target specifications and customer standards.

• Prepare detailed technical data sheets for developed products.

4. Process Optimization

• Work with production teams to fine-tune spinning processes for better efficiency, cost

reduction, and consistent quality.

• Implement quality improvement initiatives for existing product lines.

5. Customer Support

• Attend to customer complaints and provide technical solutions.

• Coordinate with buyers for custom yarn developments or special finishes.

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain records of trials, formulations, test results, and approvals.

• Prepare monthly reports on ongoing developments, samples sent, and feedback received.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: B.Tech / M.Tech in Textile Technology or Textile Engineering.

• Experience:8-15 yrs
