About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Manager of Product Development with a strong background in baby clothing and softlines to join our growing team. This individual will play a pivotal role in overseeing the end-to-end product development process for our baby products range. As part of a leading D2C brand, you will work closely with cross-functional teams (design, marketing, production, and sourcing) to bring innovative and high-quality baby products to market.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Development Leadership:
Lead the development of baby clothing and softlines products from concept through to final production. Oversee the entire lifecycle of products, ensuring that they meet market demand, brand guidelines, and quality standards.
Trend Analysis Forecasting:
Stay up-to-date with current baby product trends, fabrics, materials, and innovations in the industry. Use this knowledge to guide product creation and to make informed decisions about collections.
Collaborative Teamwork:
Work cross-functionally with design, production, sourcing, and supply chain teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of products. Provide regular updates and communicate development timelines.
Vendor Management:
Identify and manage relationships with external suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors. Ensure the timely delivery of materials and finished goods that meet quality, safety, and compliance standards.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure that all products meet regulatory standards and exceed customer expectations in terms of quality, comfort, and design.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
Analyze sales data, customer feedback, and product performance to refine the product assortment, propose new ideas, and optimize offerings.
Innovation Creativity:
Introduce innovative ideas that enhance product functionality, design, and sustainability, ensuring our products are both stylish and practical for babies and parents alike.
Brand Representation:
Act as a brand ambassador for baby products, ensuring all products align with the company s vision and values.
Key Requirements:
Experience:
Minimum of 9 years of experience in product development, with a focus on baby clothing and softlines. Prior experience in D2C (Direct-to-Consumer) brands is a significant advantage.
Education:
A degree in Fashion Design, Textile Science, Product Development, or a related field is preferred.
Industry Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of the baby product market, trends, and safety regulations (such as CPSIA and other compliance standards for baby products).
Skills:
- Proficient in product development software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, CAD tools).
- Excellent understanding of fabric sourcing, garment construction, and production processes.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and an ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams.
