Senior Manager - Maintenance and Manufacturing Engineering

Role & responsibilities:

Position: Head - Maintenance & ME

This role heads the maintenance and is responsible for maintenance of all the plant machines so as ensure optimum utilization of all equipment and Process improvement in CFT Function.

• Responsible for all plant layout designs and decisions.
• Design plan for overall maintenance of the plant by creating a layout and, developing and implementing various maintenance modules preventive, breakdown and predictive for all plant machinery and utilities.
• Integral part of the team responsible for all new projects that includes transportation of machines, technology transfer, new construction, installation and commissioning of the same.
• Select, install and commission all new machines and provide service support for imported machines.
• Work on indigenization of spares and ensure effective spares management during all times.
• Design effective energy conservation methods for the plant and implement the same.
• Plan and implement actions aimed at major overhauling of machines.
• Ensure maintenance support to all plants including vendors/sub-contractors, maintenance of utilities and autonomous machine maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements related to safety, pollution control, electricity and MIDC. Interact with all government bodies related to these areas and ensure certification, audits and inspections are completed and complied within schedule.
• Drive team to carry out complete ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 activities.
• Train, coach and develop team and ensure continuous technology and knowledge updates.
• Work with production team with respect to maintenance of all the machines according to the time lines.
• Work with procurement and ME department for procuring, installing and commissioning machines.
• Prepare location wise CAPEX budgets, manage and control expenses, adhere and comply with all preventive maintenance schedules, monitor breakdown percentages for all class of machines and utilities, and ensure achievement of all productivity targets related to in-house automations, indigenization of spares and energy conservation.
• Responsible for initiating and implementation of low cost automation, line balancing and by reducing the tooling operations to increase the productivity..
• Responsible for monitoring and control of manufacturing cost , waste costs etc.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Knowledge of latest automated production techniques, technologies and frameworks like LEAN, TQM and TPM.
• Technical knowledge of different types of machinery, utilities and engineering drawings.
• Ability to remain calm in critical situations.
• Project management and execution skills.

Qualification, Role Specific Knowledge:

• BE (mechanical/electrical) with post-graduation diploma/degree in production/operations management.
• Relevant work experience of 10 15 years with minimum 5 years leading the function in a similar setup
• Good business and financial acumen
• Highly proficient in using MS-Office applications like excel, word and power-point, ERP and AutoCAD
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
