Senior Manager - Engineering (PHE)

Job Overview:

The Senior Manager - Engineering (PHE) will be responsible for setting up the engineering team and lead them in engineering, development, and technical support for Plate Frame Heat Exchangers. This role is responsible for managing the complete product lifecycle including design, development, customization, validation, and continuous improvement to meet customer and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Engineering

• Build and lead a specialized engineering team for PHE development.
• Drive design and development of PHEs for varied industrial applications.
• Conduct and oversee thermal and mechanical calculations (e.g., pressure drop, thermal sizing, plate pattern selection).
• Ensure compliance with international standards: ASME, TEMA, PED, CE, ISO.

Project Engineering Execution

• Review and approve GA drawings, BOMs, and customer-specific documentation.
• Manage engineering deliverables for orders, tenders, and turnkey projects.
• Guide customization of PHEs for demanding applications (high-pressure, high-temperature, corrosive environments).

D and Product Innovation

• Lead innovation in plate pattern design, gasket technology, and material selection.
• Support development of compact, high-efficiency, energy-saving heat exchanger models.
• Collaborate with D and manufacturing for design enhancements and NPIs.

Technical Governance

• Enforce QA/QC protocols and regulatory compliance in engineering practices.
• Conduct FMEA, DFMEA, risk assessments, and root cause analysis for failures.
• Maintain comprehensive design documentation and validation records.

Team Leadership

• Lead a multidisciplinary team (thermal, mechanical, CAD engineers).
• Collaborate with sales, proposals, production, sourcing, and quality teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster knowledge sharing and talent development.

Customer

• Provide technical expertise to sales/pre-sales teams.
• Participate in customer meetings for design clarifications and post-delivery support.

Skills Attributes:

Education:

• B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical, Thermal, or Chemical Engineering (mandatory)

Experience:

• 12 -15 years in design and engineering of PHEs or related thermal systems
• Proven leadership in managing engineering teams and complex technical projects
