Senior Manager - Compliance Testing

Job overview:

Will be responsible for independently conducting compliance reviews and testing exercises across various business verticals and support functions to assess adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and procedures. This role plays a critical part in the second line of defence, ensuring ongoing regulatory risk monitoring and mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a risk-based compliance testing calendar in line with regulatory expectations and internal compliance framework.
• Conduct periodic compliance reviews across business units, operations, branches, and corporate functions.
• Assess effectiveness of controls and compliance with applicable RBI guidelines and other statutory obligations.
• Review internal policies/procedures and their implementation on ground.
• Identify gaps and potential risks; provide actionable recommendations.
• Prepare detailed testing reports with observations, root causes, and remediation recommendations.
• Track closure of compliance findings and follow up with business stakeholders.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders including business heads, legal, operations and internal audit.
• Present findings to senior management and support the compliance team in regulatory engagements, if required.
• Stay updated with regulatory changes and proactively assess their impact on testing scope.
• Support in thematic reviews or special testing assignments based on emerging risks or regulatory focus areas.

Qualifications & Expertise:

• CA / CS / LLB / MBA (Finance or Risk specialization preferred).
• 5-8 years of relevant experience in compliance, internal audit, or regulatory testing in NBFCs, banks, or financial institutions.
• Sound understanding of RBI Master Directions applicable to NBFCs, AML guidelines, Fair Practices Code, etc.
• In depth knowledge of compliance and regulatory landscape for NBFCs
