Role Overview

The Senior Infrastructure Consultant serves as a strategic technical leader for major clients, taking ownership of technical direction, project leadership, and stakeholder engagement. This role involves acting as the primary technical lead or account manager, managing complex projects, and coaching teams to ensure high-quality delivery and continuous improvement. Strong leadership is demonstrated through mentoring, performance management, and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing, while also maintaining excellent communication with both customers and internal teams.

This role involves acting as the primary technical lead or account manager, managing complex projects, and coaching teams to ensure high-quality delivery and continuous improvement. Strong leadership is demonstrated through mentoring, performance management, and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing, while also maintaining excellent communication with both customers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Customer Technical Lead or Technical Account Manager for major clients, providing strategic guidance and technical leadership.
  • Develop and maintain architecture and design documentation for customer solutions, including cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.
  • Collaborate closely with transition teams and project managers to define requirements and estimate effort for projects.
  • Work with commercial teams on pre-sales activities, including tender input and presentations.
  • Provide technical roadmaps for customers and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Lead and manage technical projects, ensuring high-quality delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Coach and mentor team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional growth.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including automation of processes and high-quality documentation.
  • Act as a point of contact and escalation for customers and colleagues.

Qualifications

Skills & Expertise

  • Expert-level knowledge (10+ years) in relevant technical domains, including Citrix, VMware, and on-premises infrastructure, with the ability to drive large-scale customer, function, or practice initiatives.
  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities, managing complex relationships and driving performance outcomes.
  • Advanced organisational awareness and decision-making skills.
  • Proven experience in managing performance, outcomes, and continuous improvement across teams and projects.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Technology Stack & Certifications

  • Azure: Deep expertise in Azure cloud services, architecture, and deployment.
  • Citrix: Experience with Citrix virtualisation solutions, including Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops.
  • VMware: Proficiency in VMware technologies such as vSphere, ESXi, and Horizon.
  • On-premises Technologies: Strong background in managing and integrating on-premises infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and security.
  • DevOps: Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including automation and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Technical Certifications: Ongoing pursuit of specialisation exams such as:
    • SC-100, SC-200, SC-300 (Security)
    • AZ-104, AZ-800, AZ-801, AZ-140, AZ-101, AZ-305 (Azure Administrator, Specialist, Architect)
    • Citrix and VMware certifications as required
  • Documentation Tools: Experience in creating and maintaining architecture/design documentation and technical roadmaps.
  • Project Management: Ability to work closely with project managers and commercial teams on pre-sales and project delivery.

Additional Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage large-scale projects across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles, including technical leadership and service reviews.
