Senior Geotechnical Laboratory Engineer

About Us:
Centre for Advanced Engineering is a leading NABL accredited geotechnical consulting firm based in Kolkata, specializing in testing of physical and engineering parameters of soil and rock as well as chemical parameters of soil and rock for infrastructure and development projects. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Laboratory Engineer to join our team. Further inclusion of testing of all engineering parameters of construction materials is on the horizon.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation, Review, updating, modification of SOP.
• Conduct laboratory tests on soil and rock samples in accordance with relevant standards.
• Maintain accurate records, registers, formats, and documentation of all testing activities.
• Assist in preparing test reports, including basic data analysis and backup calculations.
• Support the laboratory team in maintaining equipment and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory processes

Required Skills:

• Proven expertise in geotechnical laboratory testing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to use graphing/plotting tools to prepare charts and visual representations of laboratory data.
• Good organizational and documentation skills.
• Working knowledge of CAD for preparing 2D drawings/ plots.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with laboratory protocols, quality assurance practices, and NABL documentation requirements/ documentation as per standard like NABL.
• Understanding of standard test methods (IS/ASTM/BS codes) and their application in soil and rock testing.

Eligibility:

• B.Sc., B.E. or B.Tech. in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
• Minimum experience: 3 years

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹260,000.00 - ₹325,000.00 per year
