Role Description:

This is a full-time remote role for a Senior MSP Field Technician. The Senior MSP Field Technician will be responsible for providing on-site technical support to clients, managing network installations and maintenance, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring network security. The Technician will also be involved in developing and implementing custom telecommunications solutions for clients, performing system upgrades, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.


Responsibilities:

  •  Provide onsite and remote technical support to clients across multiple industries.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues involving Windows Servers, desktops, networking equipment, and cloud services.
  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, firewalls, switches, workstations, and backup systems.
  •  Perform regular maintenance tasks and system health checks.
  • Strong working understanding of computer hardware including the ability to replace RAM, CPU and motherboards.
  •  String technical communication skills being able to translate complex technical items into plain English for end users
  •  Implement IT projects, such as server upgrades, Office 365 migrations, and network redesigns.
  •  Document systems, configurations, and resolutions in our PSA and documentation systems.
  • Collaborate with internal team members and escalate issues as necessary.
  •  Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians.

Requirements:

  •  5+ years of hands-on experience in IT support or systems/network administration.
  • Previous experience in an MSP environment is required.
  •  Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.
  • Proficiency with Office 365, Azure, and related Microsoft technologies.
  •  Solid understanding of networking (firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, TCP/IP, etc.).
  •  Experience with RMM/PSA tools
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally to client sites.
  • Relevant certifications (CompTIA, MCSA/MCSE, Cisco, etc.) are a plus.
  •  Need to travel to customer sites generally within 100-mile radius of downtown Los Angeles


Location & Hours:

  • Monday - Friday 8am - 6pm (core work hours)
  • Unplanned Weekend and overtime work is required from time to time given the 24/7 nature of Network Operating Center work
  • Based in Southern California - required!
  • Work hours aligned with Pacific Time
