Senior Environmental Scientist Contaminated Land Management

As an Environmental Consultant at WSP, you will be responsible for undertaking assessments and remediation of contaminated land, groundwater, and surface water resources. This includes applying appropriate analysis and evaluation based on relevant guidance and policies. Your key responsibilities will include: - Undertaking desk-based studies of site investigation data - Preparing remedial action plans and monitoring/management plans - Preparing technical reports analyzing and interpreting investigation and monitoring data - Working in conjunction with senior staff in specialty domains like geotechnical and planning - Assisting in preparing project proposals, bids, and project work programs - Maintaining knowledge of current technical standards, legislation, and codes of practice Desired Skills: - Demonstrated experience in developing reports for submission to statutory authorities - Understanding of international contaminated land guidelines and familiarity with New Zealand legislation - Experience in scoping and conducting contaminated site investigations - Proficiency in data management, analytical skills, and attention to detail Software Proficiencies: - Familiarity with software such as EQuIS, EnviroInsite, RBCA Toolkit, ArcGIS, and QGIS - Expertise in professional report writing using MS Word and presentations using MS Powerpoint - Proficiency in data analysis tools such as R, Microsoft Excel, and PowerBI - Preferred coding and scripting skills in VBA, Python, SQL, JavaScript Qualifications: - MSc or MTech in Environmental Science/Technology or Sustainability - Membership of a relevant international professional body is desirable Experience: - 8+ years of hands-on professional experience, with past experience in global consulting organizations preferred Additionally, WSP is a leading professional services consulting firm with a global presence.
