JOB Summary
- We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Engineering Manager with a Chemical Engineering background and over 15 plus years of experience in Operator Training Simulation (OTS), Dynamic and Steady-State Process Simulation, and Engineering Project Execution.
- The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional technical teams delivering advanced simulation, digital twin, and engineering solutions for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and Process Industries. Experience in EPC or FEED environments will be an added advantage.
- The role demands a combination of technical depth, leadership ability, and client interfacing skills to drive innovation and excellence in simulation-based engineering projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage process simulation and OTS project execution from concept through delivery and commissioning.
- Oversee development and validation of dynamic and steady-state process models using commercial tools such as Aspen HYSYS Dynamics, UniSim, or gPROMS.
- Coordinate with process engineers, control system teams, and clients for model configuration, control logic integration, and DCS/PLC interfacing.
- Drive the design, testing, and implementation of Operator Training Simulators (OTS), including FAT, SAT, and user acceptance.
- Ensure technical integrity, accuracy, and quality of simulation deliverables across multiple projects.
- Interface with EPC design teams for alignment of simulation models with engineering deliverables (PFDs, P&IDs, control narratives, etc.).
- Manage project schedules, resources, and budgets ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and training to simulation and process engineering teams.
- Collaborate with clients and technology partners for digitalization, plant optimization, and advanced control initiatives.
- Support proposal development, project estimation, and scope definition for simulation and digital engineering projects.
Technical And Industry Experience
- Strong background in process design, simulation, and dynamic modeling for Oil & Gas, Refinery, and Petrochemical units.
- Proficiency in Aspen HYSYS / UniSim Design / gPROMS / Dynsim or equivalent process simulation platforms.
- Expertise in Operator Training Simulator (OTS) configuration, testing, and deployment.
- Experience with DCS/PLC systems integration (Honeywell, Emerson, Yokogawa, ABB, etc.) for OTS and control validation.
- Knowledge of process control strategies, control narratives, and alarm management.
- Understanding of EPC project workflows, FEED, and detailed engineering deliverables.
- Familiarity with digital twin, plant performance monitoring, and process optimization applications.
- Strong technical writing, analytical, and troubleshooting abilities for simulation and control-related issues.
Skills & Requirements
- Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- 15+ years of experience in process simulation, OTS, and engineering project execution for Oil & Gas / Petrochemical industries.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership or managerial role managing simulation or digital engineering teams.
- Proficiency in Aspen HYSYS Dynamics, UniSim, or gPROMS, and familiarity with control system integration.
- Strong project management, planning, and team coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and client-facing abilities.
- Experience in EPC, FEED, or digital transformation projects is highly desirable.
- Passion for innovation, digital technologies, and process optimization in industrial operations.
