Senior Engineer Vehicle Performance Simulation (VPS)
Chennai, India
Develop and execute 1-D engine performance simulations (e.g., torque, BSFC, transient behavior)
Simulate after-treatment systems for both diesel and gasoline engines
Analyze experimental test data and correlate it with simulation outputs
Identify performance gaps, propose refinements, and implement enhanced simulation methods
Publish detailed simulation reports, set performance targets, and track progress
Drive new technology evaluation and capability-building within the simulation team
5+ years of experience in engine simulation, performance modeling, or similar domains
Deep understanding of combustion processes, emissions, and after-treatment systems
Experience with alternative fuel modeling (especially CNG / ethanol)
Analytical mindset and experience validating simulations against test data
Excellent technical writing and report-generation skills
Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate simulation insights to stakeholders
Innovative thinker: capable of proposing novel simulation techniques
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
Self-starter who can lead projects independently and mentor junior engineers
Passion for efficiency, emissions reduction, and future-fuel technologies
