Job Description

Role Overview

Senior Purchase Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage suppliers for raw materials, machined components, non-ferrous castings, and sheet metal fabricated parts.
Evaluate supplier capabilities, conduct audits, and maintain vendor performance records.
Analyze technical drawings and specifications to
estimate accurate component costs.
Perform
should costing
to benchmark supplier quotes and drive cost optimization.
Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and payment terms with vendors.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with stores and production to ensure material availability.
Operate within ERP systems for procurement planning, order processing, and reporting.
Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and statutory regulations.
Collaborate with cross functional teams to align procurement with operational goals.

Required Qualifications

Diploma or bachelors degree in mechanical engineering.
8-10 years of experience in purchase and vendor development in machinery manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of costing for machined and sheet metal components.
Should costing expertise
to evaluate supplier pricing and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Knowledge of import/export procedures and statutory compliance.
Experience in inventory control and ERP systems.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

Preferred Attributes

Familiarity with ISO standards and procurement audits.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
