Position : Senior - Airframe Design Work location - Yelahanka, Bangalore We at Tata Advanced Systems are seeking a senior potential in the domain of Airframe Design. The successful candidate will oversee a team of Engineers who are tasked with designing Airframe for Unmanned & Manned systems. The candidate will have a understanding of fundamental technical principals, and concepts with respect to Airframe design lifecycle (Materials, Design principles, Loads, testing) Responsibilities: Technical Leadership across phases of the airframe development lifecycle Design and development of Airframe structural components (both metallic and composite materials), assemblies, and system installations for Unmanned and manned systems. Review 3D CAD models and 2D drawings on CATIA V5/SolidWorks, adhering to industry and customer-specific modelling and drafting standards. Manage detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring traceability, version control, and configuration accuracy Perform weight estimation, tracking, and control across all design phases, ensuring alignment with weight budgets and performance criteria. Collaborate and lead cross-functionally with stress analysis, manufacturing, quality, and systems teams; actively engage in design reviews, issue resolution. Provide Integration support and Support Airframe production. Function as the primary technical interface with the Production agency, ensuring alignment on design objectives and deliverables. Participate in risk assessment and develop mitigation strategies for ongoing projects. Mentor team members by providing technical guidance, sharing best practices, tools, and domain knowledge. Conduct employee performance reviews and solicit peer feedback about teams performance Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Relevant experience of between (10 to 12) years of practical knowledge in the Aerostructures domain, preferably with exposure to Fixed wing or Rotary platforms and full design cycle involvement. Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering (preferably in Mechanical, Aerospace or equivalent discipline) Experience in 3D/2D modelling and detailing of structural components (machined, sheet metal, and composite) using CATIA V5/SolidWorks Strong grasp of aerospace materials, Special processes and structural fasteners. Good knowledge on industry drawing standards (e.g., ASME Y14.5), and GD&T practices. Communication strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to prepare reports, proposals, Statements of Work. Candidate must be fluent in English, and familiar with MS Office tools.
