Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Plan and supervise pipeline laying, jointing, and testing for distribution networks, transmission mains, and service connections.
Manage replacement of old pipelines and installation of new pipelines (DI, HDPE, MS, CI, PVC, MDPE, etc.).
Oversee house service connection installation/replacement with proper meter fitting.
Ensure correct use of fittings, valves, specials, and accessories as per design and standards.
Prepare technical specification, estimates, BOQs, and work schedules.
Monitor site works to ensure compliance with technical specifications, safety, and quality standards.
Conduct hydraulic testing, pressure testing, and leak detection for pipelines.
Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and local authorities for timely completion.
Maintain records of material consumption, site measurements, and daily progress.
Review contractor bills, certify work done, and support tendering/contract management.
Provide technical guidance to supervisors and work teams.

Preferred candidate profile

Strong technical knowledge of water supply networks.
Expertise in pipe materials and fittings (DI, HDPE, MS, CI, MDPE).
Experience in pipeline laying, jointing, testing, and commissioning.
Knowledge of hydraulic testing, leak detection, and water metering systems.
Project documentation, contractor billing, and BOQ preparation.
Coordination with contractors, consultants, and authorities.
