Senior Engineer – Hull Structure Design

The Senior Engineer – Hull Structure Design is responsible for independently developing detailed structural design deliverables, supporting both basic and production design stages. The role requires strong technical skills, coordination ability, and adherence to class, yard, and project requirements.

• Prepare 3D structural models, midship sections, deck plans, shell expansions, and structural details.
• Develop and update construction drawings and production documents for hull blocks and units.
• Perform structural calculations and weight estimations as per class and design inputs.
• Coordinate with outfitting, piping, and machinery teams for design integration.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate comments from class and client.
• Support yard teams during production drawing clarification and change management.
• Assist in FEM or rule-based strength assessments.
• Ensure proper application of class rules and project-specific standards.
• Contribute to documentation for class approval and technical submissions.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency of drawings and data; report progress to Team Leader.

• B.Tech in Naval Architecture or Structural Engineering.
• 4–8 years of experience in hull structural design.
• Strong command of 3D modeling tools (CADMATIC Hull / AVEVA / NUPAS) and 2D drafting.
• Working knowledge of class rules (DNV, LR, IRS, ABS, NK, etc.).
• Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
