Job Description

Preparation of Solar Project Layouts

Create detailed site layouts for solar farms, rooftop solar installations, or solar power plants using design software such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
Design solar panel arrays, placement of inverters, substations, and electrical cabling routes.
Ensure the layout adheres to engineering and regulatory standards.

2. Topographical and Structural Drawings

Generate topographical and land survey drawings to help with site analysis.
Provide structural drawings for mounting systems, foundations, and other infrastructure required to support solar installations.

3. Coordination with Engineers and Architects

Collaborate with civil engineers, solar design engineers, and electrical engineers to ensure that the design is functional, cost-effective, and meets safety standards.
Make revisions based on feedback from other departments and during the construction phase.

4. Compliance with Regulations

Ensure that all designs meet local building codes, environmental regulations, and standards specific to solar energy installations.

5. Material and Equipment Specifications

Prepare technical drawings that detail the materials, mounting systems, and electrical components used in the installation.
Provide detailed layouts for equipment like transformers, inverters, and other key components.

6. Site Analysis

Assist in conducting site surveys to analyze the terrain, elevation, and suitability of the location for solar installations.
Use site data to refine designs and optimize the placement of solar panels to maximize energy output.

7. As-Built Drawings

Provide updated drawings reflecting any changes made during construction, ensuring accurate records of the finished project.

8. Documentation

Maintain detailed records of all drawings, revisions, and project specifications.
Help prepare documentation for permits and regulatory approvals.
