Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Embedded Linux Engineer to join our IoT and Industrial Solutions team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Embedded Linux development, Yocto build system, and C++ programming, along with hands-on experience in industrial protocols, IoT cloud connectivity, and Linux kernel/user space development. You will collaborate with firmware, hardware, and cloud teams to design and implement secure, scalable, and high-performance embedded solutions for industrial IoT applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, integrate, and maintain embedded Linux applications using Yocto, Buildroot, and C++.
  • Participate in kernel and driver development, debugging, and optimization for industrial-grade devices.
  • Maintain and enhance existing firmware/software solutions for performance, stability, and scalability.
  • Design and implement industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, BACnet, and Profinet.
  • Enable IoT cloud connectivity using protocols like MQTT, CoAP, WebSockets, or REST APIs.
  • Collaborate with cloud teams to ensure smooth integration between embedded devices and backend systems.
  • Participate in system architecture discussions, ensuring maintainable and efficient designs.
  • Profile and optimize embedded applications for CPU, memory, and power efficiency.
  • Implement real-time or near-real-time solutions where required.
  • Work closely with hardware engineers, firmware teams, and cloud architects to ensure end-to-end functionality.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices in embedded Linux development.
  • Collaborate with QA and testing teams to ensure robust and reliable product releases.
  • Implement secure coding practices for embedded devices.
  • Ensure compliance with industrial and IoT security standards.

Must-Have Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in Embedded Linux development on ARM or x86 platforms.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Yocto Project, Buildroot, and C/C++ programming.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols : Ethernet/IP, Modbus, BACnet, etc.
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and IoT connectivity protocols like MQTT or CoAP.
  • Solid understanding of Linux kernel and user space development, including drivers, system calls, and debugging.
  • Hands-on experience with debugging tools : GDB, strace, perf, and profiling tools.
