Senior Electrical testing and Commissioning Engineer (Africa)

Job Overview

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Testing & Commissioning Engineer to join our expanding team in India. This position is perfect for candidates with a minimum of 3+ years of experience in the Testing and Commissioning of high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical systems, specifically within the Transmission Substation sector.

As part of our highly skilled team, you will be responsible for executing testing and commissioning services for substations (33kV, 110kV, 220kV, 400kV), utilizing industry-leading testing equipment such as Omicron, Doble, and Megger.

Key Responsibilities

• Testing & Commissioning

  of Distribution/Transmission Substations (33kV, 110kV, 220kV, & 400kV).
• Proficiency in

  Primary Testing

  using Omicron, Doble, and Megger test equipment to ensure operational excellence.

• Technical Supervision & Site Coordination

  for electrical projects, ensuring all work aligns with client specifications and local safety regulations.
• Conduct site surveys to assess electrical systems, design elements, and load schedules for new and existing substation facilities.
• Collaborate with local utility companies to ensure customer power requirements and specifications are met.
• Regular meetings with clients and stakeholders to review project status, timelines, and resolve any technical challenges.
• Coordinate with the

  Project Manager

  to assess project costs, resource requirements, and timelines.
• Ensure adherence to

  Indian utility standards

  and industry best practices for all executed projects.
• Supervise site technicians, ensuring

  timely project completion

  while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
• Provide daily progress reports to the Project Manager.
• Ensure materials and equipment are ordered and available on-site before work begins.

Key Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in the

  Testing, and Commissioning

  of Transmission Substations (33kV, 110kV, 220kV, & 400kV).
• Proficiency in using testing equipment such as

  Omicron, Doble,

  and

  Megger

  for primary testing and protection relay testing.
• Hands-on experience in the testing and commissioning of

  power transformers

  , Air Insulated Substation (AIS) &

  Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS)

  .
• Strong understanding of

  Indian standards

  and local utility regulations for electrical infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise site work, manage resources, and coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Previous experience in

  electrical contracting

  or

  power transmission and distribution

  is preferred.
• Familiarity with

  electrical design software

  and creating technical drawings is an added advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering

  (or equivalent).
• 5+ years of relevant field experience in

  Testing & Commissioning

  .
