As the Senior Director, Enterprise Cloud technology, you ll shape Walmart s cloud and infrastructure strategy leading modernization at scale, ensuring operational excellence, and driving innovation across our global ecosystem.
You will oversee foundational technology platforms that support the enterprise including Public Private cloud, Traditional compute, Cost, Capacity and more infrastructure capabilities enabling Walmart core technology ensuring they are secure, resilient, and built for scale. This role requires a strategic, hands-on leader with deep expertise in cloud and enterprise infrastructure, capable of leading teams through transformation while keeping associates and customers at the center.
What You ll Do
1. Lead Complex Technology Initiatives
Participate in defining and execute Walmart s enterprise cloud and infrastructure strategy across hybrid and multi-cloud environments (Azure, GCP, and on-prem).
Lead modernization of enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure, storage, compute, cost, capacity and observability platforms to drive performance, scalability, and resilience.
Partner with global Architecture, Security, and Engineering teams to align platform strategy with enterprise priorities and business goals.
Drive adoption of automation, Agentic GenAI, AI/ML, and observability capabilities to enhance reliability, speed, and transparency across systems and services.
Deliver large-scale, cross-functional initiatives with measurable impact on cost efficiency, system performance, and associate experience.
2. Drive Operational Excellence
Champion a culture of accountability, reliability, and continuous improvement across infrastructure operations.
Establish and measure clear operational metrics (SLA, SLO, KPI) for cloud and enterprise systems.
Lead initiatives to optimize cost, performance, and compliance across cloud and enterprise platforms.
Mature SRE, DevOps, and FinOps practices to improve delivery velocity, uptime, and efficiency.
Ensure robust observability frameworks are in place to provide real-time insights into system health and performance.
3. Lead People and Organizational Transformation
Build, inspire, and develop high-performing teams across cloud engineering, infrastructure operations, and platform services.
Lead organizational transformation through upskilling, career growth, and a culture of learning and innovation.
Foster inclusion, collaboration, and a sense of purpose within diverse, cross-functional teams.
Act as a coach and mentor to emerging leaders, creating a deep bench of technical and leadership talent.
What You ll Bring
15+ years of experience in enterprise technology leadership roles, including 5+ years in cloud or infrastructure transformation.
Deep expertise in traditional and cloud infrastructure technologies, including storage, compute, networking, and observability as well as automation.
Proven experience managing hybrid and multi-cloud environments (Azure, GCP etc) at scale.
Strong understanding of infrastructure automation, operational excellence frameworks (ITIL, SRE, DevOps), and service governance.
Track record of driving measurable outcomes across performance, cost optimization, and reliability.
Strategic mindset combined with hands-on technical depth in infrastructure and operations.
Demonstrated success leading distributed global teams and influencing across complex organizational structures.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and executive stakeholder management skills.
Minimum Qualifications...
Option 1: Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 7 years experience in software engineering or related area.
Option 2: 9 years experience in software engineering or related area. 4 years supervisory experience.
