Southstar Senior Software Engineer/Tech Lead

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with engineering managers and business stakeholders to translate business requirements and product vision into scalable technical designs and high-quality code. Primary focus areas include billing APIs, data pipelines, quote fulfillment, and BSS systems which may has direct financial impact to the organization.
• Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including planning, estimation, scheduling, implementation, testing, and deployment. Proactively identify technical risks and propose effective solutions.
• Design and build reliable, scalable applications that involve complex logic, workflows, and intuitive user interfaces.
• Develop APIs and backend microservices that integrate seamlessly with internal and external systems, ensuring performance, maintainability, and security.
• Support ongoing modernization of the technology stack and architecture to align with evolving customer needs and the broader product roadmap.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, participate in code reviews, and help establish coding standards and engineering best practices.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving production issues, complex bugs, and performance bottlenecks. Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions.

Qualifications:

• A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, similar field of study or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience architecting, designing and developing scalable software applications.
• ASP.Net Core/C#
• Knowledge with relational database and proficiency in SQL.
• Prior experience implementing system integrations with API (REST, SOAP).
• Proficiency at least one additional general purpose programming language Java or Python or TypeScript is preferred.
• Knowledge and exposure to front-end development such as React, JavaScript, Note.js, CSS, HTML is preferred.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with Outsystems platform is a big plus
• Familiar micro-services architecture is a big plus.
• Experience with TypeScript and Node.js and a plus
• Experienced with container based development and deployment environments (ex. Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Experience working with workflow/ETL orchestration tools (ex. Dagster, Airflow, Netflix Conductor) is a plus.
• Prior experience using distributed streaming & messaging platforms such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ and data processing framework such as Apache Flink, Apache Spark is a plus.
• Knowledge of big data ecosystem and experience working with technologies such as Iceberg, Trino, Solr, StarRocks, Elasticsearch, snowflake, Databricks, object storage S3/MinIO is a plus.
• Previous experience or exposure working with billing or finance related systems is a plus.
