About the Role

Senior Developer - Platform and Infrastructure

Arctic Wolf is looking for a software developer to join us in enabling our development teams to deliver high quality and high value software with confidence. We design, implement, and support systems, tools, and practices that enable our teams to build, test, and deploy software in minutes instead of hours or days.

Our contributions directly impact the experience of developers across the entire organization, and we strive to make their lives a little bit better each day.

About You

5+ years experience in developing scalable systems
You want to build tools and processes that support the efforts of hundreds of internal software developers
You are demonstrably capable of working at least one other modern programming language such as TypeScript, Go or Python
You are proficient at integrating solutions with HTTP APIs from browser-based web applications
You have experience debugging and managing Kubernetes clusters at scale in production environments
You have experience building reusable infrastructure templates using technologies like Terraform or CloudFormation, preferably with AWS or Azure
You are capable when working with typical CRUD operations in common relational databases
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
Backstage platform development and plugin creation
Bazel build system
CI/CD tools like Jenkins or Build kite
Observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Open Telemetry)
AWS and Azure cloud services and best practices
You care deeply about your customers and their needs, tying your own success to theirs
You seek out opportunities for improvement while remaining focused on meeting business objectives
You are comfortable making decisions with limited or ambiguous information when required and can clearly document the associated risks with any such decision
You enjoy collaborating with your peers, but can also work well independently

Team Responsibilities

Enhance the developer experience by providing and supporting best-in-class development tools that delight the developers that use them
Build, operate, and support our distributed continuous delivery pipeline enabling developers to deploy services and infrastructure at scale to AWS and Azure cloud
Evolve our internal developer platform (Backstage) to leverage data and enable continuous improvement across the development organization
Build capabilities and integrations for Backstage to streamline developer workflows
Maintain and improve our build and deployment infrastructure using Bazel, Jenkins, and Build kite
Support observability initiatives using Prometheus, Grafana, and Open Telemetry
