Description
Own the technical roadmap and architecture for backend systems and full-stack integrations. Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance microservices and RESTful APIs. Collaborate closely with front-end teams to build seamless end-to-end experiences using React/TypeScript. Champion engineering excellence by enforcing best practices in code quality, security, performance, and reliability. Lead technical planning, backlog grooming, and code reviews to ensure alignment with product and business goals. Drive system design discussions, make architectural decisions, and guide teams through technical trade-offs. Partner with DevOps, Security, and Product teams to ensure efficient, secure, and observable systems. Lead incident response and root cause analysis, and implement improvements to increase system resilience. Mentor and coach developers across experience levels, fostering a culture of growth, innovation, and accountability. Continuously improve team processes and tools, supporting Agile methodologies and DevSecOps practices. Skills and Experience 8+ years of backend development experience, with 2+ years in a technical leadership or lead developer role. Expertise in object-oriented programming languages such as Java . Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and distributed system design. Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, DynamoDB). Proficiency in performance tuning, asynchronous programming, and multithreading. Hands-on experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS. Solid grasp of security principles including authentication, authorisation, and secure coding practices. Proficiency with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, and ECS. Desirable Skills and Experience Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes/ECS) and cloud-native architecture. Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). Passion for cybersecurity and interest in security operations. Strong Git proficiency and experience managing branching strategies and code collaboration workflows. Experience working across the stack, with a solid understanding of React/TypeScript front-end architecture.
