Senior Design Engineer

As a Senior Design Engineer in the Tensioner Development department at our client's Mechanical power transmission products manufacturing company based in Nagpur, Maharashtra, your primary responsibility will be to research and create design proposals for new products or enhance existing tensioner products. You will be reporting to the Tensioner Development Head and working towards ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering first-time-right product designs. Your key responsibilities will include designing, modeling, and testing products using CAD software and 3D modeling techniques. You will also be assessing production methods and materials for product feasibility from an economic perspective. It will be crucial for you to share innovative design ideas that align with customer-specific requirements and ensure adherence to DFMEA guidelines throughout the product design process. Additionally, you will conduct simulations and analyses of design models to predict product performance under varying conditions. Understanding and incorporating customer needs and expectations, including specific requirements, into the design process will be essential. You will be responsible for preparing 2D and 3D drawings for customer approval, studying product-related standards, promoting research case studies, and troubleshooting design issues related to customer complaints. Collaboration with research and development teams to enhance product usability and marketability, ensuring compliance with industry-specific standards, and conducting design calculations such as Spring Calculation and Tolerance Stack-Up will also fall within your purview. Furthermore, you will be expected to develop Design Validation Plans (DVP), track design changes for product improvement, and contribute to the overall enhancement of product designs. To be successful in this role, you should hold a Mechanical Engineering degree, have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Automotive or Rubber Industry, and possess additional qualifications like a Postgraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Certification courses, or Diploma in AUTO CAD, PRO-E, Simulation Software, etc. Proficiency in Auto CAD, FEA Tools, GD & T, DFMEA, Creo, ISO, ASME Standards, and experience in Tools and Fixture Design, Manufacturing Processes, 8D Analysis will be crucial for excelling in this position.
