Description
As a Design Engineering Manager, you will lead and manage a team of 10 CREO design engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise. You will oversee the entire design engineering process from concept development to final product release, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product management, manufacturing, and quality assurance, you will define project requirements and objectives. Conducting design reviews, providing constructive feedback, and driving continuous improvement in design processes and methodologies will be crucial aspects of your role. Your responsibility will also include developing and maintaining design standards, best practices, and guidelines for the team to ensure consistent and efficient design execution. Utilizing Creo software, you will create and modify complex 3D models, assemblies, and drawings as needed. Conducting design analyses and simulations to validate product performance, optimize designs, and ensure compliance with engineering standards will be a key part of your daily tasks. Collaboration with manufacturing and procurement teams to optimize product manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and scalability will be essential. Staying updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in Creo software to drive innovation and improve design capabilities will play a significant role in your success. Fostering a collaborative and positive work environment, encouraging knowledge sharing, creativity, and professional development within the team will be a priority. Qualifications for this role include a Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. Extensive experience in design engineering, specifically utilizing Creo software for complex product designs, is required. Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of successfully managing and leading design engineering teams are essential. In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, design standards, and manufacturing processes is necessary. Proficiency in conducting design analyses and simulations for structural, thermal, or fluid performance evaluation is expected. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex design challenges, are crucial. A solid understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and design for manufacturability (DFM) principles is required. Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders are essential. Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools and practices is beneficial, as well as previous experience in the industry or relevant product development projects.
