Job Description

Role Overview: As a Senior Database Engineer at MasterCard, you will be a key member of the Database Engineering team, driving the customer experience strategy through innovation and problem-solving. Your role involves providing Microsoft SQL Server Database support for MasterCard Application databases in both On-Prem and Cloud environments. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize database performance, ensure data integrity and security, and follow best practices. Key Responsibilities: - Configure, patch, upgrade, and optimize database software and related products - Handle security, backup/recovery, architecture, networking, and administration for assigned database discipline - Work with technology teams for development, maintenance, testing, implementation, and support of database technologies - Proactively monitor and troubleshoot database issues, driving to root cause and remediation - Develop strong partnerships with technology teams and customers to understand business needs and communicate solutions effectively - Ensure database security including managing users, roles, and privileges - Manage large projects with specialized knowledge in database discipline and architect solutions - Influence best practices in planning, implementing, and maintaining database solutions - Train and mentor team members by contributing to supporting documentation - Be available for On-Call support after hours and weekends Qualifications Required: - Proven experience in database performance monitoring and troubleshooting - Ability to work cross-functionally to optimize queries and fix performance bottlenecks - Proficiency in change control, testing processes, and reviewing/approving database modifications - Knowledge of Replication strategy AlwaysOn and database patching/upgrades - Familiarity with SQL Server Analysis Services, SQL Server Integration Services, PowerBI report server - Understanding of AWS and AZURE technologies for critical modules - Strong communication skills to effectively interact with technical teams and business partners *Note: The job description does not contain any additional details about the company.,
