Senior Data Modeler

As a Senior Data Modeler at our company, you will be responsible for leading the design, governance, and optimization of enterprise data models within our Data & Analytics platform. Your role will involve developing scalable, modular, and business-aligned models that serve as the foundation for analytics and reporting across multiple regions and clients. Key Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and maintain scalable and modular data models for Snowflake, with region- and country-specific extensions. - Define, document, and approve changes to enterprise data models, embedding business logic into structures. - Conduct data modelling workshops to gather requirements and align business, BI, and engineering teams. - Provide technical guidance, assign modelling-related tasks, and review developer outputs. - Optimize models for performance, data quality, and governance compliance. - Collaborate with BI teams to ensure semantic consistency and enable self-service analytics. - Ensure adherence to data security, RBAC, and compliance best practices. - Use DevOps tools such as Git/Bitbucket for version control of data models and artefacts. - Maintain documentation, metadata, and data lineage. - (Preferred) Leverage ETL/ELT tools such as Matillion, DBT, Talend, or Azure Data Factory for integration workflows. Qualification Required: - 5+ years of experience in data modelling, including 3+ years in a senior/lead role. - Strong expertise in designing enterprise-level data models on cloud data platforms (Snowflake preferred). - Proficiency in SQL, including Snowflake-specific features (streams, tasks, dynamic tables). - Knowledge of data warehouse design patterns (dimensional, Data Vault, etc.). - Hands-on experience with DevOps practices Familiarity with metadata management, data lineage, and cataloguing tools. - Strong knowledge of data privacy, governance, and RBAC best practices. - Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and workshop facilitation skills. - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Management, or related field.
