Description
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) is responsible for managing the public image of the hospital, promoting the hospital's services, handling media relations, and ensuring effective communication between the hospital and external stakeholders. The PRO plays a critical role in patient satisfaction by addressing patient feedback and promoting the hospital's values through effective communication strategies. Responsibilities include developing and implementing a communication strategy that involves media outreach and social media content creation, maintaining relationships with media outlets, responding to media inquiries, arranging press releases, interviews, and press conferences, monitoring media coverage, and reporting on its impact. The PRO also acts as a liaison between the hospital and patients, ensuring smooth communication and timely response to concerns, collaborates with other departments to ensure consistent messaging in public-facing materials, updates the hospital's website and social media platforms with relevant information, organizes and manages hospital events, oversees event planning to promote hospital services, addresses patient concerns and complaints, implements patient satisfaction surveys, collects feedback to improve services, communicates hospital policies and procedures clearly, and empathetically to patients and their families. Additionally, the PRO assists in the development of promotional materials, collaborates with the marketing team to ensure campaigns reflect the hospital's core values and service offerings, maintains the hospital's brand identity through consistent messaging, develops and implements crisis communication plans, acts as a spokesperson during crises, delivers key messages, and ensures accurate information is distributed to the public and media. Qualifications for this role include a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus), 2-5 years of experience in public relations, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting. Required skills include excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong writing and editing abilities, media relations management, proficiency in social media management, strong organizational skills, crisis management skills, and familiarity with patient rights and healthcare regulations is beneficial.
