Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Cloud Architect to lead the design and governance of scalable, secure, and cost-efficient multi-cloud architectures that deliver our software products through our Cloud Services Platform.

This role is strategic and hands-onyou will define our cloud architecture vision, create standards and frameworks for service delivery, and guide engineering teams in implementing resilient and automated cloud solutions. You will also play a key role in modernizing our cloud strategy, driving technology decisions, and mentoring cloud engineering teams to ensure consistency and excellence across the platform.

Position Description:

Strategic Leadership

Define and evolve the enterprise cloud architecture strategy to support business and product goals across multiple environments.
Establish cloud governance models, best practices, and design patterns to ensure scalability, reliability, and compliance.
Drive cloud modernization initiatives, including containerization, infrastructure automation, and service optimization.
Partner with senior leadership to evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, ensuring alignment with long-term platform vision.
Lead technical due diligence and integration strategies for new software products or acquisitions.

Architectural Design & Oversight

Design and oversee implementation of multi-cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) for high-availability SaaS platforms and customer environments.
Develop reference architectures, frameworks, and standards for product delivery through our Cloud Services Platform.
Guide teams on Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) adoption and advanced automation techniques.
Define and validate security, compliance, and cost optimization frameworks across all cloud operations.
Serve as the final architectural authority for complex infrastructure designs and production deployments.

Operational & Technical Excellence

Champion container orchestration strategies and related ecosystem tools.
Architect multi-region, multi-tenant environments with a focus on observability, resilience, and performance tuning.
Ensure architectural designs are measurable and auditable using defined KPIs (uptime, latency, cost efficiency).
Collaborate with DevOps and platform engineering teams to accelerate CI/CD maturity and reduce deployment risk.
Lead post-implementation reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Mentorship & Influence

Act as a technical mentor to Cloud Engineers, fostering growth in architecture design, IaaC, and automation practices.
Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical workshops to elevate team standards.
Represent the cloud architecture function in executive and cross-departmental discussions, bridging business objectives with technical feasibility.

Position Requirements:

10+ years of progressive experience in cloud architecture, DevOps, or infrastructure leadership roles.
Proven track record designing and operating multi-cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) at scale.
Deep expertise with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code principles across enterprise environments.
Advanced knowledge of container orchestration patterns for production systems.
Experience implementing governance, security, and compliance frameworks in the cloud.
Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction and make high-impact architectural decisions.
Strong background in CI/CD design, automation pipelines, and observability frameworks.
Proficiency in cost optimization and FinOps practices.
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex concepts to executive and technical audiences.

Preferred Skills:

Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Architect.
Experience designing SaaS or PaaS platforms with high availability and regulatory requirements.
Familiarity with service mesh architectures, zero-trust models, and serverless computing.
Prior leadership of cross-functional architecture initiatives or cloud transformation programs.
