Job Overview

As a Senior Chemist at HCP Wellness, you will play a critical role in the formulation, testing, and optimization of innovative cosmetic, skincare, and oral care products You will lead product development projects, mentor junior chemists, and ensure that formulations meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and the highest quality standards

Key Responsibilities

Develop and formulate new products in the skin care, cosmetics, and oral care categories from concept to commercialization Modify and improve existing formulations based on customer feedback, cost targets, or regulatory changes Conduct bench stability, compatibility, and performance testing, and analyze results to guide development Source and evaluate raw materials from approved vendors; maintain strong supplier relationships Collaborate cross-functionally with packaging, marketing, QA/QC, production, and regulatory teams Document all formula data, testing procedures, and reports in accordance with internal SOPs and GMP Ensure product compliance with relevant cosmetic regulatory standards (FDA, BIS, EU, etc) Mentor junior chemists and assist in training team members on lab protocols and safety procedures Stay updated on industry trends, new ingredients, and formulation technologies

Required Qualifications

Hard Skills

Strong knowledge of emulsion technology, surfactants, active ingredients, and preservative systems Proficiency in developing various dosage forms (creams, gels, lotions, serums, pastes, etc) Hands-on experience with lab equipment (viscometers, pH meters, homogenizers, etc) Understanding of regulatory guidelines for cosmetics and oral care (India, US, EU, etc) Proficient in MS Office and formulation-related documentation

Soft Skills

Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities Strong organizational and time management skills Good communication and interpersonal skills to work in a collaborative team environment Self-driven with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects

Education & Certifications

Bachelor s or Master s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field Additional certifications in Cosmetic Formulation, GMP, or Regulatory Affairs are a plus

Preferred Experience

Minimum 5-8 years of experience in cosmetic, skincare, or oral care formulation within a manufacturing or R&D environment Experience with private label or contract manufacturing is highly desirable Familiarity with clean beauty, natural ingredients, or sustainable formulation practices is a plus
