Senior Automation Engineer

As a Senior Automation Engineer at ABB, you will play a crucial role in acting as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Your responsibilities will include completing assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner, while also applying basic design thinking/design for excellence concepts. You will be contributing to the Robotics & Discrete Automation in Thane and will be mainly accountable for the following: - Understanding Industrial Automation Products in general, including PLC, HMI, VFD, and Motion Controller. - Being responsible for Application Development and Support for machines at OEM. - Maintaining active communication channels with the Reporting Manager, sales team, customers, and the team until the completion of the Application. - Supporting sales with technical presentations and discussions to make customers aware of the advantages of B&R solutions. - Following coding standards and guidelines, handling activities like Project development, incremental modifications for series machines, machine breakdown support, training customers, and more. - Escalating issues, hurdles, critical points, and providing regular reports and briefings as required. - Interacting periodically with customers to ensure smooth workflow, documenting minutes of the meeting, and ensuring timely and effective work closure. - Planning for periodic technical upgrades, promoting organizational culture among the team, and improving individual skills to support business growth. - Working towards growing indirect sales of B&R's solutions and services in the region, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and coordination between various teams. Qualifications required for this role: - Electrical Engineering/ Electronics Engineering/ Instrumentation Engineering/Mechatronics Engineering degree. - 4 to 6 years of application development and support experience within the Indian business environment, preferably in multinational companies. - Well-developed understanding of Industrial Automation systems like PLCs, motors, drives, motion control, and robotic systems. - Understanding of Industrial IoT market requirements is preferred. - Capacity to establish effective networks in a multicultural setting. - Excellent communication and negotiating skills, fluency in English and Hindi, oral and written. Knowledge of further local languages is a plus. Flexibility to travel up to 60%.
