Senior Apparel Designer

As a Senior Apparel Designer for our client in the Fashion Designing industry, your role will involve leading the creation of innovative and trend-setting fashion collections that blend creativity with commercial success. You will be responsible for the end-to-end design process, from conceptualization to final prototypes, covering casualwear, activewear, formalwear, or lifestyle categories. Your Key Responsibilities: - Lead the design of trend-relevant collections that align with brand aesthetics and seasonal vision. - Conduct thorough trend, market, and consumer research to identify global fashion influences, color forecasts, and fabric innovations. - Develop concept boards, fabric swatches, trim selections, and color stories for each collection. - Translate creative concepts into detailed sketches, CAD illustrations, and tech packs. - Collaborate with pattern makers and sample units for accurate prototype execution and garment construction. - Oversee fittings, fabric testing, and style adjustments to ensure product viability. - Work closely with cross-functional teams to align design with business goals and timelines. - Provide creative direction and mentorship to junior designers. - Ensure materials and construction techniques meet performance and aesthetic standards within cost parameters. - Stay updated on sustainability best practices and explore responsible materials and processes for collections. What You Bring: Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Fashion/Apparel Design or related discipline. - 7-13 years of experience in design roles within fashion houses, retail brands, or independent labels. - Proven portfolio showcasing versatility across apparel categories and successful collection launches. Technical Proficiency: - Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, and CAD-based software. - Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and finishing techniques. - Familiarity with PLM systems and collection management tools is a plus. Creative Mindset & Industry Awareness: - Intuition for fashion cycles, consumer behavior, and trend forecasting. - Ability to balance creative risk-taking with commercial viability. - Passion for expressing identity, movement, and lifestyle through garment designs.
