Senior Apparel Designer

As a Senior Fashion Designer specializing in Womens Western Wear, your role will involve the following key responsibilities: - Concept Evolution & Trend Analysis: - Create concepts, mood boards, and trend boards. - Stay updated on the latest fabrics, silhouettes, and garment trends by visiting exhibitions, museums, and events related to Fashion, Art, and Design. - Analyze trends in fabrics, colors, and shapes through research, internet, in-store surveys, runways, and fashion weeks. - Identify target markets for designs based on factors such as age, gender, socioeconomic status, demography, competition, and competitors. - Educate store staff about the product and create presentations for the same. - Design Development: - Create artworks and sketches by hand or on computers. - Sketch rough and detailed drawings of apparel or textiles, and write specifications such as techniques, color schemes, construction, material types, accessory requirements, and specific measurements. - Create detailed TecPacks. - Sampling & Range Development: - Plan and develop ranges. - Direct and coordinate with Pattern Masters involved in drawing and cutting patterns. - Develop ranges by overseeing sampling and construction of samples or finished garments. - Select materials and production-friendly techniques for products. - Coordinate with vendors at different stages of sampling. - Purchase competition samples for technique and design inspiration. - Review samples on models to ensure good fits. - Manage and facilitate the sampling team for a smooth flow of the design process. - Edit and restyle production samples according to production team challenges.
