Job Description

We want someone who not only performs his/her duties, but is also willing to step up and help other team members when needed. Yahoo is a large company and there are always challenges with lots of opportunities, so we want someone who is willing to take ownership of tasks and get involved in projects to help the team. We want someone who can work independently, but who is also a team player. He/She should maintain a very high level of integrity and confidentiality of the information obtained.

This role requires working on various shifts (general, early morning, late evening / night shifts) as we support the Americas and Europe regions.

Your Responsibilities:

Support monthly close activities including closing of Fixed Asset and Prepaid subledgers, preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analyses and month end close reporting
Support quarterly preparation of required disclosures and checklists
Support SOX compliance activities including execution of key controls, documentation, and providing support for control testing,
Work closely with external and internal auditors to provide timely responses and accurate support
Document and maintain accounting policies and procedures
Ensure 100% controllership integrity
Assist in driving finance/controllership change initiatives through process improvements to gain efficiencies as needed
Support Accounting Managers with Ad hoc reporting and special projects as required

You Must Have

Chartered Accountant (CA) certification preferred
Proficient PC skills (Excel)
Working knowledge in Oracle or any similar ERP
Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
Knowledge and experience in US GAAP
Knowledge of SOX Compliance requirements
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to meet stringent timelines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
