Job Description

As a Hedge Accounting & Derivative Reporting specialist, you will be responsible for the following: - Reviewing, executing, and maintaining hedge accounting documentation, conducting effectiveness testing, and making necessary entries. - Recording and monitoring derivatives such as forwards, swaps, and options. - Ensuring timely recognition of P&L and reclassification of hedge reserves. In the area of Compliance & Financial Reporting, your duties will include: - Preparing/reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and disclosures related to hedging activities. - Providing support during the month-end/quarter-end derivative accounting closing process. - Collaborating with auditors and furnishing hedge accounting documentation. For Risk Management Support, you will: - Collaborate with Treasury/Risk Management on hedge strategies and accounting methodologies. - Validate mark-to-market valuations obtained from banks/third parties. - Ensure compliance with corporate policies and accounting standards such as US GAAP and IFRS. In the realm of Process Improvement & Controls, you will: - Identify opportunities to streamline/automate hedge accounting and reporting processes. - Maintain robust internal controls over hedge documentation and accounting practices. Additionally, you will be involved in other activities such as: - Preparing monthly/quarterly financial statement flux variance analysis for management reporting. - Providing support for the 10-Q and 10-K reporting process, including preparing supporting schedules. - Collaborating with business partners to offer financial insights and relevant reporting. - Assisting in coordinating quarterly reviews, annual audits, and SOX testing with internal and external auditors. - Working with Regional and International accounting teams to ensure alignment and drive process improvements. - Quickly grasping new processes and working independently with process owners to ensure timely completion of tasks and communication of any changes. - Creating and maintaining process documentation. - Handling ad-hoc projects/deliverables as required. Key Skills/Experience required for this role: - 8+ years of relevant experience in Accounting with a focus on analyzing information, attention to detail, meeting deadlines, ensuring thoroughness in deliverables, teamwork, and maintaining confidentiality. - 3+ years of relevant process experience with a good understanding and application of US GAAP. - Experience in SOX control documentation and execution. - Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and work independently. - Proficiency in ERP systems and willingness to learn new tools quickly. Knowledge of tools such as Workday Financials, Blackline, eGRC360, Tableau, Hyperion, Microsoft Excel, and Slack is desirable. - Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. - Passion for process improvement and automation. - Willingness to work in a challenging environment. - Ability to respond promptly to various requests. - Self-starter with the ability to self-motivate, adapt to change, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
